Automatic Wheat & Carrot Farm

For Late-Game Survival

Features:

  • Automatic seed dispenser.
  • Automatic composter.
  • 2 shulker loaders.
  • Trash bin.
  • Item sorting system.
  • Automatic seed recycling.
  • And more.

How It Works:

The farm is very easy to use. Simply grab 2 seeds, stand in front of the farmland block, turn the farm on, and start planting.

For fully AFK operation, go to Options → Controls → Use Item / Place Block and change the setting from Hold to Toggle. This allows the game to continuously place seeds while you're away.

You can also use F3 + T, as reloading game resources keeps the right mouse button held until the reload finishes.

Each seed you plant is instantly fertilized by dispensers using bone meal, and once fully grown, a piston automatically harvests the crop.

The wheat and seeds are automatically separated using item filters.

  • Wheat is first stored in the barrel on the right, giving you quick access whenever you only need a few stacks. Once that barrel reaches its storage limit, any excess wheat is automatically sent to the shulker loader. Filled shulker boxes are then stored inside the chest marked with the wheat item frame.

  • Seeds are initially stored in the barrel on the left. Once it reaches its limit, the excess is automatically sent to a dropper located beneath your feet, ensuring you never run out of seeds while planting AFK. Around half of that surplus is also diverted to the composter, producing bone meal and keeping the farm completely self-sustaining.

The farm also includes a dedicated carrot filter with its own shulker loader. However, carrots cannot be dispensed automatically like seeds, so you'll need to restock them manually once your inventory runs out.

You can also farm potatoes, beetroot, or other crops, but they will be sent to the seed storage since there wasn't enough space to add separate filters for every crop.

Finally, the farm includes a simple trash bin, consisting of a barrel where you can discard any unwanted items.

Notes:

Note 1: If you're farming wheat, it is recommended not to stay AFK for longer than 1 hour. Wheat can produce 1 to 3 seeds per harvest, and after roughly one hour the hopper minecart underneath will no longer be able to keep up with the item throughput.

Note 2: This limitation does not apply to carrots. You can farm carrots AFK for as long as you want.

Note 3: Before building the farm in your survival world, it is highly recommended to test it in Creative Mode and make sure everything is working correctly.

Recommendation:

Before using the schematic, make sure to read all the notes carefully and fully understand how the farm operates to achieve the best possible performance.

Fixed on 7-11-2026

  • Fixed an issue where seeds were not being dispensed correctly.
  • Slightly redesigned the farm to maintain overall symmetry.
